William O. Wallace, 81, of Tomhannock Road in Valley Falls, died peacefully Thursday July 8th at St. Marys Hospital Troy. Born on March 3, 1929 in Tomhannock, NY, a son of William R. & Caroline Akin Wallace. He was educated in Valley Falls Schools. Mr. Wallace was a veteran of the US Army. Billy retired from the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles where he was a license examiner. He loved the Boston Red Sox, horse racing, the OTB and the Stewarts coffee gang. He enjoyed many winters in Florida where he made many friends. Survivors include 1 Sister Jean Harrington of Johnsonville, several nieces and nephews; Ed Wallace, Lori Maynard, Christine Lindsey, Diane DiSarno, Peter Brophy, Susan Nolan, Tim Brophy, Nancy Cumo, and several great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings James and Edward Wallace and Edna Brophy Lamb. Relatives and friends may call from 9-11:00am on Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Chase Funeral Home, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am with Pastor Clyde McCaskill, officiating. Interment will be in Tomhannock Methodist Cemetery.
