William "Billy" Frederick Umstadter, II, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021. He was 39. Born on January 10, 1982 in Troy and grew up in Schaghticoke, son of Abbey Sue Hunter and the late William Frederick Umstadter, Sr. Billy graduated from Hoosic Valley Central High School, class of 2000. He worked for Quality Retail Systems in Schaghticoke, Global Foundries in Ballston Spa and recently for Cree/Wolfspeed, Inc. in North Carolina. After graduating High school, Billy's enjoyment and need for speed was his late model Camaro, his crotch rocket and modified Banshee that his step dad George Bourgeois inspired that thrill for racing. Billy and his brother Tristan growing up were inseparable buddies, Tristan riding his dirt bike and Billy racing his banshee on the huge mound they used as a jump in their yard on Cumo Road. Billy gave his mom that mischievous grin knowing mom did not approve in this activity. He enjoyed being outdoors on his mountain bike with his sister Amanda and his brother in law Brandon. Billy was a hard worker and his work ethic was above and beyond. His dream someday was to own that big beautiful Corvette. Billy was the kind soul that would help a neighbor and would help a friend in a time of need. He will be dearly missed. His first love was his daughter Allison Taylor, he was the proudest Daddy when she was born. Survivors in addition to his loving mother, Abbey Sue Hunter of Ballston Spa, include his adoring daughter, Allison Taylor Umstadter of Scotia, his brother Tristan Scott Umstadter (Megan) of Schaghticoke, his sister Amanda Lynn Johnson (Brandon) of Tennessee, maternal grandfather, Charles D. Hunter of Florida and his aunts and uncles, Wendy L. Purcell of Gansevoort, Mark C. Hunter (Rob) of Nassau and Ronald Hunter and David Hunter both of Lansingburgh as well as many cousins. In addition to his father, William Umstadter, Sr., he is predeceased by his sister, Sarra Anne Umstadter, maternal grandmother Roslyn Baum and paternal grandparents George F. and Anne Umstadter. Services for Billy will be private and at the convenience of his loving family. He will be interred in Elmwood Cemetery, Schaghticoke.
