Obituary

Stillwater Saratoga County William S. "Bill" Kelly of Hudson Avenue passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Albany Medical Center. He was 68. Born in Mechanicville on January 3, 1950, son of the late Allen and Eunabelle (Nevins) Kelly. Bill served in the US Army in Korea, honorably discharged in 1971. He enjoyed working at the Stillwater Bus Garage and then worked for General Electric as a chemical operator. Bill was a member of the American Legion and the Arvin Hart Fire Company. His favorite place to be was at his home on the Hudson River where you would find him either in the pool or boating. Bill welcomed everyone that stopped by with his quick wit and caring nature. He was the type of man that would give you the shirt off his back, if he was wearing one. Heaven is a better place with Bill. I hope they are ready to do things up there your way, you know "the right way!" Survivors include his children, Kerry Kelly of Winter Haven, FL, Camey Kelly of Stillwater and William Will Kelly of Cambridge, his siblings Pat Tabor, Shirley Carden, Sandra Peters, Vivian Kelly, James Kelly and Linda Carlson as well as his adoring grandchildren Tyler Bushey, Kaylee Monroe and William Monroe, several nieces, nephews and his beloved dog Sophie. Relatives and friends may call from 5-7:00pm on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, MECHANICVILLE. Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30am on Wednesday in the funeral home with burial to follow at 12 noon in the Saratoga National Cemetery with Military Honors.
