Mechanicville McCadden, Wanda Wanda D. (Ciepiela) McCadden of Mechanicville passed away on February 21, 2012 at her daughters residence in Stillwater following a brief illness. She was 93. Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on April 2, 1918, daughter of the late Ludwig and Sophie (Skalak) Ciepiela. She is the widow of the late John McCadden. Wanda was employed as a millworker at Tagsons Paper in Mechanicville. She was an avid crafter and was fond of sewing and gardening. She especially enjoyed the large family parties and being with family and friends. Wanda is survived by a son, John (Kathleen) McCadden of Mechanicville and a daughter Maxine (Peter Paffen) McCadden of Stillwater and her siblings, Anna Mickalonis, Mona McBride, Edwin Ciepiela and Chester (Marilyn) Ciepiela all of Halfmoon. Also survived by her grandsons, Todd McCadden and Johnny McCadden both of Mechanicville and two granddaughters of Clifton Park as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her brother William Ciepiela. Relatives and friends may call from 10-12pm on Friday, February 24 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. Funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Clyde McCaskill officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Pauls Cemetery, Mechanicville.
