Mechanicville, Saratoga County Velma Metzner passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Saratoga Hospital. She was 84. Born in Stillwater on October 6, 1933, daughter of the late Edward and Mildred (Pratt) Bryan. She is the widow of John Metzner. She is survived by her dear friend of many years, Rita Wood and family, her nephew Jim (Mary) Bryan and their daughters Alicia Bryan and Abigail Novak as well as a friend and neighbor June Whitesell. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her siblings, Edward J. Bryan, Jr., Katherine Morocco and Harold Bryan. Relatives and friends may call from 10-11:00am on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater.
