Martin, Thomas - Melrose, Rensselaer County Thomas A. Martin of Maple Lane passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Springs Nursing Facility in Troy. He was 80. Born on May 14, 1934 in Cohoes, he is a son of the late Henry J. and Leona (Mossey) Martin. He is the husband of the late Gail (Lester) Martin whom passed in 2013. Mr. Martin had been employed by the Warren Fane Company in Melrose where he worked as a truck driver. In earlier years, he enjoyed having friends and family over to his home and was a bird watcher and loved anything that had a motor including antique cars, tractors, RC models and especially his Harley Davidson. Survivors include his children, Debi (Jeff) Dingman of Greenwich, Cheri (Joseph) Blais of Alamogordo, NM, Wayne (Sherry) Martin of Schaghticoke and Kimberly (Gregory) Bruck of Nashville, TN, a sister Jane Martin of Somerville, NJ and a brother Francis Martin of Schaghticoke. His grandchildren, Krystal Cunningham, Barbara O'Konski, Steven Blais, Jackie Agnew, Jennifer Blais, Joe Blais, Anthony Villeneuve, Nicholas Martin, Jared Martin and Josephine, Keifer and Kyler Bruck as well as 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Relatives and friends may call from 4-6pm on Thursday, January 29 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. A funeral service will be conducted at 6pm in the funeral home. Interment in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery will be in the spring.
