Thomas David "Tommy" Burns, Jr., passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. He was 49.
Born in Troy on November 26, 1969, son of Thomas D. Burns, Sr. and the late Billie Marie Adamson.
Tommy was an avid guitar player who loved playing classic rock and rhythm n blues. He was an unbelievable pool player. He was also an excellent craftsman and mechanic. He could make just about anything from nothing. He custom built motorized cycles and he was excellent at building and repairing many other things. He always enjoyed hanging with friends at the Old Admirals Marina in Stillwater. He worked recently as a handyman. He also spent many years working for Polyset in Stillwater.
Survivors in addition to his father Thomas D. (Patsy) Burns include his children, Brittany Burns, Thomas D. (Emily) Burns, III, Tyler Burns and Jacob Burns, his paternal grandmother, Ruth E. Burns, his siblings, Melissa A. (Bryan) Burns-Lawliss and Vincent M. McConnell, his grandchildren Mason J. Hayes and Violet A. Burns, niece and nephew Samantha and Ryan Palmer as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his mother, Billie Marie, he is predeceased by his maternal grandparents William and Pauline Adamson and paternal grandfather George H. Burns.
Interment services will be private and at the convenience of his family in the family plot in St. Peters Cemetery, Troy.
Tommy will always be remembered by his family and through the lives he touched as a hero by organ donation.
