Thomas John Brust of Buskirk passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 as result of an accident in Castleton.
He was 27.
Born on June 3, 1990 in Troy, son of John J. Brust and Lucky Jo Filkins.
He was employed by Bob Talham, Inc., and most recently by Darcy Construction as a mason and construction
worker. An avid New York Yankees fan, he enjoyed fishing, dirt bikes and was truly gifted as a motorcycle
rider and stuntman. He was one of the Valley Boys participating in area demolition derbies, locally at the
Schaghticoke Fair. Spending time with his friends and family at the Garage was important to him but being
with his family and taking his kids for rides on his quad was second to nothing.
Survivors in addition to his loving parents include his adoring children, Allison Taylor Brust and Collin Daniel
Brust, his brother, John R. (Ashley) Brust of Buskirk and his girlfriend, Meghan Lynch also of Buskirk.
He is predeceased by his beloved aunt, Janet Mary Lucky Henderson, grandparents Joann Filkins and Ronald
Brust, his uncles Ronald Brust and Gerry Diggy Brust.
Relatives and friends may call from 3-7:00pm on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral
Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00am on Wednesday in the
funeral home. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Johns Cemetery, Schaghticoke.
