Thomas Z. Bendon of Eagle Lane passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Ellis Hospital. He was 71.

Born in Troy on June 30, 1953, son of Honora (Callahan) Bendon and the late John J. Bendon. He is the husband of Evelyn "Evy" Ziter.

Tom most recently worked for GE Healthcare in Troy. He was a member of the Adirondack Victory Club, the Mechanicville-Stillwater Elks Lodge #1403. Tom was fascinated by motorcycles, ATVs and cars. He loved Halloween and family dinners on Friday night and always left room for cake.

Survivors in addition to his mother Honora and his wife Evelyn include his children, Kristen (Jeff) Hyman of Malta and their daughter Nora and Matthew Bendon of Butler, TN and his daughters Madeline and Lillian. Also survived by his sister Mary Anne Bendon of Stephentown.

Visiting will be on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 4:30-6:30pm at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Ave., Mechanicville. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 6:30. Burial will be at a later date in the family plot in St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville.
