Stillwater, Saratoga County Theresa R. Thompson, 80, of County Route 75, passed into eternal life on July 30, 2021 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Mechanicville on June 29, 1941, daughter of the late Rose and Stephen L. Gaida. She is the wife of John E. "Chick" Thompson who passed away in 1985. Theresa retired from the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance in 2003 where she served as a union shop steward. Theresa was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 490 in Stillwater and served as an election inspector for the Town of Stillwater. She loved being at home enjoying her birds and beautiful flower gardens, along with her huge vegetable garden. You could always find her at a garage sale on Saturdays. Family was everything to her, she loved spending time with them sharing stories and laughing. She had her own unique nicknames for them all. She leaves behind her loving daughters and sons, LaVivian (Ronald) Semago, LaRaina (Ronald) Baker and LaJohna (Gregory) Mahar. Affectionally known with love as Meme to her adoring grandchildren, Brendan (Abby) Semago, Ryan Semago, Kayla (Gabe) Castrello, Mallory Mahar, Haylee (Drew) Semago, Tessa (Justin) Baker and Madison (Matt) Mahar. She is also survived by her great grandsons, Maximillian and Zayn Semago and Banks Castrello. In addition to her parents and husband, Theresa is predeceased by her fianc Thomas Davidson. Theresas family would like to thank Ellis Hospital for their kindness and compassion in her time of need, as well as Dr. John Nolan for the superb treatment he provided.
