Obituary

Cambridge - Washington County Terry E. Whitney, Sr. of Brownell Road passed away on March 11, 2013 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was 74. Born on July 24, 1938 in Troy, son of the late Charles Raymond and Catherine Cecilia (Hanna) Whitney. He is the husband of Sally J. (Casey)Whitney who he has been married to for 25 years. Mr. Whitney worked as a carpenter for E.F. Hauserman in Schenectady and for Northeast Interiors in Clifton Park. He was a member of the Troy Elks Lodge 141, the Veterans of Lansingburgh as well as the Windy Hills Golf Club. Terry loved hunting, ice fishing, golfing, snowmobiling and bowling. Survivors in addition to his wife Sally include sons, Terry E. (Ruka) Whitney, Jr. of Hadley and Franklin W. (Kelly) Whitney of Johnsonville, a step-son, Michael (Lori) Boone of Johnsonville, a step-daughter, Michele (Elwin) Read of Melrose, 6 grandchildren, Rebecca Lyn Whitney, Robert and Casey Boone, Brian and Margaret Dollard and Bailey Read. Terry is also survived by his sister, Tootie Monticup of Waterford as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Whitney is predeceased by his brothers, Charles Whitney and John Robert Whitney. Relatives and friends may call from 10-11am on Saturday, March 16 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00am with Pastor Clyde McCaskill officiating.
