T. James McLaughlin of Lake Street in Stillwater passed away on Monday, October 10, at his residence. He was 81 years old. Born in Mechanicville on June 9, 1930 son of the late George and Julia McLaughlin. Husband of the late Marian Dickson McLaughlin whom he married on November 4, 1955 in Stillwater. A graduate of Stillwater High School, class of 1947. A Veteran of the United States Navy, proudly serving from 1950 to 1954 during the Koran War serving in the photo-recon squad aboard the Carriers USS Midway and the Franklin D. Roosevelt. He was employed for many years with the John Hancock Life Insurance Company as an agent and in the later years in the same capacity for the former Schenectady Savings Bank and A.W. Laurence Groups having retired in 1992. Since retirement he has worked for the Green Thumb Environmental Beautification, Inc. as a grounds keeper at Lock 4 in Stillwater. Former member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Ballston Spa and advocate of reformed faith. Survivors include Jims three daughters; Janice A. McLaughlin of Stillwater, Barbara J. Anderson of Saratoga Springs and Patricia M. McLaughlin of Cohoes, his siblings Judith Giambona, Mary A. Knipe, Karen Smith, John and Peter McLaughlin, 6 grandchildren; Joseph, Michael and Anthony Gargano, Ramon Jaquez and Daniel and Kristina Snyder, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife Jim was predeceased by Michael McLaughlin, Shelia Fuller and William McLaughlin. Private funeral services will be held on Friday. Interment with military honors will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. At the familys request, in lieu of mass cards any donations may be made to the Stillwater Ambulance Fund, Box 584, Stillwater, NY 12170 in his memory.
