Mechanicville - Saratoga County Russell W. Gordon of Route 67 passed away on June 26, 2013 at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. He was 95. Born on February 22, 1918 in Whitehall, he was a son of the late Robert and Ruth (Pike) Gordon. He is the husband of the late Lola (Duchesne) Gordon whom passed in 1992. Mr. Gordon worked for the B&M Railroad from 1942-1978 as a Brakeman, a career spanning 36 years. He was a self taught leather craftsman and would make belts, wallets and pocketbooks for family and friends. He is survived by his children, Russell L. Gordon of Stillwater, Rick (Tina) Gordon of Mechanicville, Eunice (Arthur) Haney-St. Gelais of Mechanicville and Patricia (Elwood) Bird-Eisler of Ballston Lake, siblings Ruth Gallagher of Whitehall, Paul Gordon of Whitehall, Gene Gordon of Hunter Mountain and Marshall (Sally) Gordon of Queensbury. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded by his siblings, Buddy, Max, Robert and Clifford Gordon. Relatives and friends may call from 11-1pm on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville.
