Rose M. Dickson, 81, of Davenport Estates in Mechanicville died Sunday May 16th at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born May 18, 1928 in Vienne, (Isere) France. Daughter of the late Francois & Margaret Avellet Dell. Wife of the late Donald E. Dickson who died in 1980. Rose Married Donald in a civil ceremony performed in Vienne, France on January 21, 1945. Following the ceremony, Rose arrived in New York on the SS Brazil from France. Rose started her new life in America with Donald following his discharge from the Army in Mechanicville, her life long home. Rose thoroughly enjoyed cooking and scrapbooking photos of her loving family. Rose was a waitress at the former Tancredis Restaurant in Mechanicville as well as Bubbles Restaurant. Survivors include her son, James (Linda) Dickson of Schenectady; Daughters, Margaret Dickson of Troy and Linda (Joe) Hornauer of Stillwater; one son in law, Christopher Grignon of Cohoes, one brother Roger Dell of CT and her sister in law, Janice Dell of CT; her long time companion, Jack Burnham of MA; also survived by 10 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Donna Grignon, a brother John Dell and sister in law, Marion McLaughlin. Relatives and Friends may call from 6-8:00pm on Wednesday, May 19th 2010, at the Dunn Funeral Homes, Inc. 319 Park Avenue in Mechanicville. A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday May 20th at 10:00am from the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Charles Woodman, Officiating. Interment will be in Hudson View Cemetery Mechanicville.
