Cambridge, Washington County Robert Eugene Wheeler of North Union Street passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Glens Falls Hospital after a long illness. He was 67. Born in Portsmouth, VA on May 13, 1948, son of the late Charles Eugene and Irene (Ferguson) Wheeler, he is the husband of Allison (Smith) Wheeler. Bob graduated from Rome Free Academy and went on to obtain a BS in Psychology from Clarkson College. He worked as a rehabilitation therapist at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center in Ogdensburg, a project manager for Cives Steel of Gouverneur and retired from Apple Pi Consulting of Canton. Survivors in addition to his wife Allison Wheeler include a daughter, Abby (Hamish) Fraser, a son, Christopher (Jessica) Wheeler, his grandchildren, Henry and Eoin Fraser and Claire Wheeler, his sisters, Dorothy (Peter) Ireland and Ruth Beckett as well as his many AFS exchange student sons and daughters and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Arthur C. Wheeler and a grandson Anders J. Bart. A memorial celebration of Bobs life will be conducted in Valley Falls and Canton in the Summer of 2017.
