Robert Downing Warren, 82, of Johnsonville passed away peacefully on November 30, 2011 surrounded by family in the home he built and lived in for 58 years.
Bob was the son of the late Milton C. and Gladys Downing Warren and the husband of 59 years to Wilma Smith Warren.
Bob served as a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army in Korea. Bob worked as a carpenter, first with his grandfather and father and then as a union carpenter for Fane Construction and PALA Construction, retiring in 1991. Bob was an avid gardener who took great pride in his vegetables and flowers. He enjoyed his camp in Newcomb, NY for many years. He also enjoyed hunting and watching movies and listening to music.
Bob was predeceased by his parents and brothers George Cedric Warren and Wesley Bud Warren.
Survivors in addition to his wife Wilma include his children, Robert Warren of Cohoes, Donna Warren of Troy and Diane Warren of Hopkinton, MA; sister Beverly Cushing, brother Bryan (Gail) Warren, sister-in-law Elizabeth Warren all of Johnsonville and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Bobs life from 2-4:00pm on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Johnsonville Rescue Squad Building. A service will be held at 2:30pm with Rev. Pastor Clyde McCaskill of the Hoosic Valley Community Church, officiating.
The family would like to thank the Community Hospice of Rensselaer, especially Sandy, Jamie, Jesse and Trish for their compassionate care. A special thanks to Sis for her love and support.
