Obituary

Melrose, Rensselaer County Robert Baldwin Campbell of Route 40 passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Barnwell Nursing Center in Valatie. He was 86. Born in Brooklyn on June 30, 1929, a son of the late William R. and Thelma M. (Cann) Campbell. He is the husband of Ginger (Papadopoulos) Campbell whom he married on May 15, 1959. Mr. Campbell served in the United States Army and worked for the MTA in New York City as a machinist. He was a member of the Victor Lodge #680 F&AM and active in the Melrose United Methodist Church. 21 years ago Bob and Ginger started hosting the churchs annual picnic at their home. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing, reading and camping trips to Lake Eaton. Survivors in addition to his wife Ginger include their children, Carol (Chris) Mammano of Brooklyn and their daughter Sarah, John (Cindy) Campbell of Huntington and their sons Michael and Alexander, Elizabeth (Matthew) Korcz of Birmingham, AL and their children Kaitlyn, Nikolas and Thomas and a step brother Buddy (Cynthia) Campbell of Tampa, FL. He is predeceased by his siblings, William, Thomas and Jack. A memorial service will be conducted at 11am on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Melrose United Methodist Church, 20 Church Street, Melrose. Burial with military honors will be on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 9am in the Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
