Stillwater, Saratoga County Raymond George Morby of Hudson Avenue passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Van Rensselaer Manor. He was 92. Born in Stillwater on July 14, 1923, son of the late James and Rose (Hanley) Morby. He is the husband of the late Margaret L. (Sage) Morby and the late Ida (Overocker) Morby. Mr. Morby served in the US Army from 1943-1946 and was the owner and operator of Sage Garage in Stillwater. He constructed steel buildings and was an exceptional machinist. In earlier years he was on the Stillwater Central School Board and was a member of the Stillwater Masonic Lodge. Most recently he enjoyed woodworking, especially building bird houses and making custom picture frames. He also enjoyed spending time at the adult programs at the Stratton VA in Albany. Survivors include his children, Mary Lou Lovell of Delaware, OH, Raeleen S. George of Salem, MA and Randall Morby of Stillwater and their spouses, Dave Lovell, James George and Carol Morby, his siblings, Eva Chase and George (Marion) Morby and his grandchildren, Deborah Fogle, Matthew Lovell, Barbara (Kip) Smith, Sam Maynard, Chelsea Morby, Jacob (Rebecca) Maynard and Ian Morby. Also survived by his great grandsons Will, Gabe, Andrew and Lucas. He is predeceased by his siblings, James, John, Carl, Alfred and Rose. Funeral services will be conducted at 10am on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in the family plot in Memorys Garden, Colonie.
