Obituary

On October 2, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer, Raedine Anne Foster Hartnett peacefully joined her husband Michael, their beloved son Skye and her sister Charlene Stampinato in heaven. Born on March 5, 1953 in Troy, New York, Rae was the daughter of Ruth Lanoue Foster Colozza of Cohoes and the late William E. Foster, Sr. of Amherst, Massachusetts. Rae was 59 years old. Raised in Lansingburgh, Rae graduated from Lansingburgh High School in 1971, Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Albany. Rae married Michael Hartnett in May of 1977. Together, Mike and Rae raised four children, Michael Skye Hartnett, Forrest (Amber Brust) Hartnett, Hudson (Kim McCarthy) Hartnett and Grace (David Carey) Hartnett. Rae and her family lived for many years in West VA, where they made many lifelong friends. They then returned to New York and lived in Stillwater before settling into the old family farm house in Melrose. Rae worked in private industry as an office assistant, she worked at G.E. in Waterford as well as for various New York State agencies. She was also an enthusiastic Mary Kay representative for many years. Rae was a beautiful person inside and out. She will be missed forever by her children Forrest and Amber, Hudson and Kim, Grace and David, her grandchildren Eli and Cliff Carey, Gunnar and Rye Hartnett, Lily and Evrest Hartnett. Her mother Ruthie, her brother William (Marybeth) Foster and her sister Norine (Chris) Masella. Rae is also survived and will be missed by many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. A private wake was held at her home. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:30am on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. Following the service there will be a celebration of her life at the American Legion Post 731, 181 Main Street, Schaghticoke.
