Johnsonville, Rensselaer County Peter Anthony Unavitch of Route 67 passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at home following a long illness. He was 83. Born in Hoosick Falls on July 15, 1939, son of the late Adam and Hazel (Gannon) Unavitch. He is the husband of the former Penelope Lynn Bennett. Peter served in the US Navy from 1959-1962. He worked as a foreman for Adirondack Steel in Watervliet. Survivors in addition to his wife include their daughter, Deborah L. (Jeffery) Daurio, grandchildren Zachary (Allie) Daurio and their children Peter and Thomas, Casey P. Daurio and Sydney L. Daurio. The family would like to thank Marsha from the Community Hospice for her care for Peter and the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Peter Unavitch.
