Patricia A. Krauss, 92, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Ellis Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Christopher and Julia (Kelley) Casey. Patricia was the loving wife of the late Stephen Krauss to whom she was married for 71 years. She attended St. Pauls School and graduated from Mechanicville High School. Patricia and Stephen lived on the farm on Vosburgh Road for many years before moving to the Seniors Midrise in Mechanicville. Recently she lived at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia.
Patricia was a member of the Court St. Paul #71, Catholic Daughters of the Americas for 65 years. She was a founding member of the Doll Ladies, making sock dolls and refurbishing well loved dolls for children in need. She also made numerous sets of rosary beads.
Patricia worked for General Electric in Schenectady during WWII. She was a homemaker, known for her pies, cakes and homemade pickles. She enjoyed crocheting.
Patricia was the wonderful mother of Linda (Bruce) Thomas of Greenfield Center, David (Sheila) Krauss of Delmar, Marjorie (David) Harvey of Gilmer, TX and Carol (Harry) Wood of Mechanicville. Proud Grandmother of Lisa Brown, Kimberly Thomas, Joanne Pinheiro, Adam Thomas, Abbey Debenedetti, Brianna Wood, Ashley Wood as well as eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Norine Murphy. In addition to her husband and parents Patricia is predeceased by a granddaughter Angela Krauss and her sisters Marcella Lang and Mary Desmond.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on Thursday at All Saints on the Hudson, South Church. Interment will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
