Patricia L. Crooks

Schaghticoke, NY

Born 1/9/1923 to the late Dorothea and Alexander Lehmann, passed away peacefully in her sleep with family by her side on 12/5/2023. She was 100 years old.

Born and raised in NYC, Pat enjoyed City life and its cultural offerings and summers on the farm in Long Island. Pat moved to Schaghticoke, NY in 1967. Pat worked at various jobs throughout her life but after settling in Schaghticoke, she raised a family in a house filled with 4 children, dogs, cats, chickens and horses. She was especially fond of dogs and trained seeing eye dogs for the blind. Pat was a talented artist working in all mediums. She loved art, music and theater, especially spending time in Cooperstown at the Glimmerglass Opera House. She was known to family and friends for her witty interpretations of people and situations.

She was predeceased by husband, Robert Crooks and daughter, Sheila Keasbey, siblings Rowland and Alex Lehmann and Dorothea de la Harpe.

She is survived by her children Nancy (Michael) Chesney, Jonathan Crooks and Timothy (Diane) Keasbey. Also survived by her grandchildren Jacob and Rebekah Keasbey; Heidi (Paul) Bukbazen; Philip (Tatiana) Chesney; Kristine (Evan) Lochstedt; Vivian and Gary Crooks. Three great grandchildren Jonathan Henry Lochstedt, Joshua Bukbazen and Samuel Chesney. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at Chase Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, January 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm followed with a short service. Internment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband and daughter.

The family would like to thank her friend and home health aid, Jesse Caitlin for the care, love and understanding she provided to Pat.
