Obituary

Stillwater Saratoga County Patricia G. Brown of Hudson Avenue passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 76. Born on September 21, 1940 in Peru, NY, daughter of the late Charles A. and Marion (St. Germain) Dillon. She is the widow of the late Charles W. Brown who passed away in 1988. Prior to raising her family, Patricia held a secretarial job at General Electric. After the passing of her husband Charles, she worked as a manager for Olan Mills, retiring from that job to help raise her beloved grandchildren Alexander and Kelsey. Once her grandchildren were grown she started working at the Mechanicville Senior Center as a receptionist and then started a knitting group. The knitting group made lap robes for a local nursing home and also provided mittens and hats for families in need in the Mechanicville-Stillwater area. While working at the Senior Center she was able to use her connections to organize a drive to collect donations for the homeless womens veteran shelter in Ballston Spa. Family was always her first priority and was always involved in their various activities and looked forward to spending as much time as she could with them including spending summers in Maine and cooking family dinners for the holidays. She loved her home and decorating it for the holidays, tending to her yard and maintaining her garden. Her family will miss her baking and the treats she would send home with them. A devoted Catholic, she attended Mass every week and as much as she loved her life, she looked forward to being with her husband and soul-mate Charlie in Heaven. Survivors include her children, Mathew (Kim) Brown and Laurie Brown, her grandchildren, Alexander and Kelsey Brown, a sister, Susan (Frank) Dandaraw and her sisters in law Cora Hayner and Helen Brown as well as several nieces and nephews and her beloved fur baby Bear Brown Relatives and friends may call on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 9:00-11:00am at All Saints on the Hudson Church, North Church, 895 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am with interment at St. Peters Cemetery, Stillwater. Online remembrances may be made at www.chasesmithfamily.com
