Obituary

Stillwater Saratoga County Barton, Patricia Anne On Tuesday morning, January 10, Patty entered into rest with her loving sister, Fran (Sissy) and her sons at her side. She was 77 years old. Patty was born at home in Stillwater on June 5, 1934 to parents Minard and Helen (Baldwin) Tanner. Predeceased by husband George (Pudge) in 1993 and son George in 1999. Also predeceased by brother Richard (Dick) Tanner and sisters Catherine Tanner, Margaret (Peg) Moore and beloved niece Dani Moore Tatum. Patty recently mourned the loss of her canine companion of fourteen years, Casey. Survivors include beloved sister Frances (Thomas) Messore, sons Douglas and Patrick and many nieces and nephews including God daughters Kathy and Angela Messore. Pattys childhood was overseen by big sister Fran which included beings parked in her carriage in left field while Fran played the outfield and then towed by bicycle through Stillwater. Patty was a devout communicant of St. Peters in Stillwater. Patty attended Stillwater School and Keveny Academy in Cohoes and then went on to work at Samaritan Hospital as a nurses aid. She was later at Highgate Nursing Home in Troy as a physical therapy assistant. Patty enjoyed summers at Sacandaga and Alpine Lake with family. Special activities included her flower beds, crossword puzzles and watching the Yankees with sister, Fran. Special thanks to N.Y.O.H. and Community Hospice of Saratoga County for their special care. Relatives and friends may call from 4-7:00pm on Friday, January 13 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Ave., Stillwater. Funeral service will be conducted at 11am on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. William Turnbull, officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Peters Cemetery, Stillwater. Memorials may be made to the Stillwater Rescue Squad, 283 Hudson Ave., Stillwater, NY 12170 in her honor. Online remembrances may be made at www.chasesmithfamily.com
