Tomhannock -Rensselaer County Norma Shoemaker Curtis was called home to the arms of her savior on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 after a long illness. She was 75. Born in Troy, daughter of the late Roland and Bernice (Hall) Shoemaker. Survivors include her son Mark (Jennifer) Curtis, daughter Chris Simmons, her brother Robert (Jennifer) Shoemaker and sisters Deborah (David) Crosier and Rebecca (John) Foster, her grandchildren Roy, Sarah, Matthew Simmons as well as Shay and Briona Curtis and one great grandson Shane Simmons. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her brothers Dave, Gary, Richard and Mark. Her children and family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to 'Aunt Becky' for keeping our Mom at home and making it possible for us to surround her with love and tender care. Relatives and friends may call from 5-6:30pm on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the United Church of Cohoes, 123 Mohawk Street, Cohoes. A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 at the church.
