Nelson Wayne Lee of Pleasant Avenue passed away at his residence on Friday, November 10, 2017. He was 78. Born on November 27, 1938 in Daytona Beach, FL, son of the late Franklin and Marion (Bassett) Lee. He is the husband of the late Claudia B. (Burdick) Lee. Wayne served in the US Navy from 1958-1960. After his service he returned to work at the Norton Company of Watervliet, retiring as a Senior Product Engineer after over 40 years. He went on to work for another 14 years at Manheim of Clifton Park. He was a former member of the Hoosic Valley Rescue Squad and was especially proud to be a founding member of the Hoosic Valley Central Schools Booster Club. Wayne loved playing the NYS Lottery and enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his children, Phyllis (Doug) Kaehler of Niskayuna, Darryl (Amy) Lee of Tomhannock, Diane (Andy) Minenna of Ormond Beach, FL and David (Cheri) Lee of Brunswick, his siblings, Cheryl Mehan of Malta and Paul (Kathy) Lee of Holly Hill, FL., as well as 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife, Claudia, he is predeceased by a grandson, Matthew Minenna. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 10am-11am at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke.
