Schaghticoke Rensselaer County Michele (Stannard) Bevis, 47, passed away in her home in Johnsonville on June, 30, 2011. Born in Troy, daughter of Alfred A. Stannard (Dawn M. Stannard) and predeceased by Beverly W. Stannard. She graduated from Hoosic Valley Central School in 1981 and SUNY Cobleskill in 1983. Michele had a passion and love for the outdoors and farming as a former co-owner of Beca-Hill Farm in Valley Falls until she became a journeyman electrician. She was a member of the IBEW Local Union 236, grange, 4-H, NY Holstein Association and Ayshire Association as well as the 1980 Washington County Dairy Princess. She had a love of cross stitch, reading and watching her brother tractor pull, as well as sports as an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan. Most of all she loved to watch her four children grow up playing sports. They were her greatest joy and accomplishment. Michele is survived by her children, Joshua O. Bevis, Kimberly M. Bevis, Cale A. Bevis and Donald James (DJ) Bevis as well as Donald R. Bevis. Brother, John B. Stannard(Judy), George A. Stannard, Carolyn Stannard-Carlo(Steven), James W. Stannard(Melissa) and Nicholas A. Stannard, her in laws Robert and Marion Bevis as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 4-8pm on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street Schaghticoke. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family plot in Woodland Cemetery, Cambridge.
