Mechanicville - Saratoga County Michael Christopher Yanis of Broadway passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 as result of an accident. He was 37. Born in Cambridge on July 31, 1976, son of Mary Adamson and the late Walter Yanis. Mike previously worked for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance in Albany and had just recently started at Global Foundries in Malta. He was a talented musician excelling in high school with the saxophone. He also enjoyed the piano and had a gift of being able to pick up any instrument and start playing and composing. He was an avid New York Yankees fan. Survivors in addition to his mother Mary Adamson (Richard Lechthaler) of Mechanicville include his beloved son, Christopher Michael Yanis of Stillwater, his siblings, Laura Ous and Robert Ous of Galway, Richard Lechthaler III of Bridgeport, CT, Eric Yanis of Rochester and Heather Yanis of Schenectady, nephews, Timothy (Liz) Callahan of St. Marys, GA and William Ous of Galway, close friends AJ Delprete, Dennis McCauliffe, Kris Kearney and Nick Rose as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends may call from 4-7pm on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. Funeral services will be at 11am on Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hudson View Cemetery, Mechanicville.
