Mechanicville Yeager, Matthew
Matthew Yeager, formerly of Cook Adult Home, passed away on Wednesday, January 4 at the Diamond Hill Nursing Center. He was 98.
Born on October 22, 1913 in Elizabeth, NJ, son of the late Michael and Anna (Hubert) Yeager. Husband of the late Evelyn Luther Yeager.
Mr. Yeager enjoyed watching sports, mainly the New York Yankees and had a love for the Harness Track in Saratoga. He was employed as a pipe fitter at General Electric in Schenectady for over 35 years.
Survivors include his son, Richard and wife Susan Yeager of Jonesville and their children Richard, Michael, Steven, Leo and Kelly, a daughter Joan and husband John Foster of Ballston Lake and her children Laura, John and David as well as his sister Freda Constable of, NJ, his nieces Barbara Andrews of Mechanicville and Adrienne and husband Mark Money of Selkirk and a nephew, Glenn Constable of NJ.
In addition to his wife, Evelyn, he is predeceased by his brother and six sisters.
Relatives and friends may call from 9-11am on Tuesday, January 10 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Avenue, Mechanicville. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be in the family plot at Hudson View Cemetery.
