Matthew James Lane of Route 423 in Mechanicville, returned home to his Lord and Savior Jesus, suddenly at Saratoga Hospital after a brief illness surrounded by his family. He was 42. Born on December 2, 1977 in Saratoga Springs to William and Christine (Smith) Lane of Stillwater. Matt was a graduate of Stillwater High School and was employed locally at Manheim Albany, in Clifton Park. A member of the Hillcrest Fire Department and a parishioner of Starpoint Church in Clifton Park and the Hoosic Valley Community Church in Schaghticoke. Matt could always be heard asking "WHATS THE GOSSIP?!" In addition to his parents, Matt is survived by his devoted wife, Heather (Sweet) Lane and his beloved children; daughters, Evelyn Rose and Lilian Grace and his soon to be born son, Zeke Matthew, his brother, Robert (Bobby) Lane of Fort Edward and his in-laws, Cindy and Joe Sweet of Rensselaer as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Matthew was predeceased by his brother, William E. Lane, Jr. At this time services are private for Matt, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
