Obituary

Reilly -Stillwater, Saratoga County Mary Frances Reilly of Lohnes Road in Stillwater passed away on April 3, 2014 at her residence. She was born on May 14, 1924, the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Kathryn Prout Mahar and the wife of the late George J. Reilly, Jr. She was orphaned at the age of 11, and lived with her Tipperary born Grandmother. This brought her very close to her Irish roots, of which she was very proud. Mary attended Mechanicville Public Schools where she graduated with the Class of 1942. She was employed as a secretary at the Westvaco Plant until its closing. On May 18, 1946 she married her childhood sweetheart, George. Together, they raised four children, and were happily married for fifty eight years. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant Brother Thomas, her Husband and her lovely Daughter, Kathleen Marie Carpenter, which broke her heart. She is survived by her Sons, Michael and his wife Holly of Malta, John and his Wife Sandra of Stillwater, her Daughter Maura and her Husband Ronnie La Due of Scottsville, NY and her Son-In-Law Gary Carpenter of Stillwater. She was the very proud "Keema" of Joseph (Beth-Ann), John (Tara) Reilly, Matthew (Tonya) and Kelly (David) Carpenter, Sean (Jennifer) and Kerry Reilly, Mark (Alecia) and Ryan Boise. She was very thankful to God for letting her live to know her Great-Grandchildren: Lucas and Makayla Reilly, David Kramek, Jr. and Jacob Carpenter. She was a member of The Notre-Dame Visitation Parish, Court Stella Maris #396 Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Schuylerville, NY and the Quaker Springs Sunshiners. She was a former member of the Court St. Paul #71 Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Mechanicville, NY, St. Peter's Rosary Society, and The Arvin Hart Fire Auxiliary, Stillwater. She bids a loving "Good-Bye" to her many friends and relatives (you know who you are), both here and departed, who helped her through the bad times and laughed with her through the good. At Mary's request, there will be no viewing hours. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 8:00am from the Notre-Dame Visitation Church, Schuylerville, NY. Interment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if wished, donations may be made to the Community Hospice of Saratoga County, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 in loving memory of Kathleen Marie Carpenter.
