Lyons, Mary H. - Melrose, Rensselaer County Mary H. Lyons passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy with her family at her side. She was 85. Born on August 14, 1929 in Cambridge, daughter of the late William J. and Harriet (Thompson) Hill. She is the wife of 66 years of Mr. Richard E. Lyons whom she married in Greenwich on November 14, 1948. After moving from Greenwich to Melrose in 1954, she raised her family. Mary was a devoted member of the Melrose United Methodist Church and served on many committees over the years. Survivors in addition to her husband Richard include their beloved children, Bette Ann (Jim) Thompson of Mechanicville and Rick Lyons of Granville, her adoring grandchildren, Lindsay, Joshua, Chelsea and Kimberly, step grandchildren Michael and Stefanie, her brother William Hill of Phoenix, AZ and brother-in-law Robert (Ann) Lyons of Greenwich. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins, and a host of family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Edith Jean Beardsley. Funeral services were private and at the convenience of her family.
