Mary Electa Hunt of Hunt Lane passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at her residence with her loving family at her side. She was 90.
Born in West Stockbridge, MA on October 2, 1927, daughter of the late Ellery and Mary Gleason) Richmond. She is the widow of Wesley Hunt.
Mary worked as a poultry farmer in Easton. She was an active member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Troy and later of Schenectady. She was a Sunday School Teacher for many years and she was always concerned about others spiritual wellbeing. Her home was always open to many young people throughout her life, and many would consider her their Gram. In recent years she would watch church services from home on her computer and was always willing to help others do the same. She absolutely loved her furry friend, Sadie. Her quick wit will be missed by her friends and family.
Survivors include her son, Robert W. (late Suzy) Hunt of Seneca, SC, her daughter Susan M. Asbell of Easton, a sister, Evelyn DuVall of Phoenix, AZ, her beloved grandchildren Wesley E. (Stephanie) Asbell of Northville and Melinda L. (David) Fultz of Catawissa, PA and adoring great grandchildren, Becka and Emma Asbell, CJ, Casey and Cassidy as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her siblings Merrild Richmond and Francis Richmond, her nephew Ray Richmond and niece Cheryl Sickler.
Relatives and friends may call from 9-11:00am on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Hoosic Valley Community Church, 2024 Rt. 40, Schaghticoke. Funeral service will follow at 11:00am in the church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
