Obituary

Johnsonville, Rensselaer County Mary E. Cook of Northern Turnpike Road passed away peacefully on July 13, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 75. Born on August 31, 1937 in Troy, daughter of the late Paul and Agnes (Guile) Madigan. Mary worked for over 30 years as a Budget and Finance Technician for the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany. She was a parishioner of Transfiguration Parish in Schaghticoke. Survivors include her brother William Madigan and sister Alice Hill, daughters, Robin Boyce, Laure (Gary) Lee, Nadine (Joseph) Welch, Melanie (Paul) Denio and Mary (Jon) LaPointe and sons Shane (Amy) Cook, Blaise (Toni) Cook and Jonathan (Aimee) Cook. Eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mary is predeceased by her brothers Paul, Joseph and John Madigan. Relatives and friends may call from 4-7pm on Tuesday, July 16 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10am on Wednesday at the Transfiguration Parish. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Schaghticoke.
