Mary E. Carknard, of St. Monica Lane, Johnsonville, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Van Rensselaer Manor. She was 84.

Mary is survived by her husband, Stephen V. Carknard, Jr.; her son, Stephen J. (Amy) Carknard; her grandson, Timothy Carknard; her sister-in-law, Donna Hill; her sister, Barbara, her sons Daniel Hall, Peter Michalski, Stephen Michalski, her daughter, Janet Hall Oroz, her grandchildren, Ken Hall, Jr;, David Boylan, Kathleen Jackson, Shawn Michalski, Alexandra Oroz, along with several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Ralph Kimball and Viola McCoon and sons Kenneth Hall and Glenn Hall.

Mary was a 1959 Mechanicville High School graduate. She retired after many years at Phillip Morris Co. in Richmond, VA. Mary was a life member of the Auxiliary Legion Post 490, Stillwater, NY where she enjoyed playing the Bell Jar. She had many Bell Jar friends at the American Legion Post 91, Mechanicville, NY and the Chester J. Carknard VFW Post 1938 in Valley Falls, NY.

There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering for "My Gal Mary" at the American Legion Post 91 at 427 South Main Street, Mechanicville, NY on Saturday, May 16th from 12-4pm. Please stop by to share a happy memory about our Mary with friends and family.
