Obituary

Melrose, Rensselaer County Mary Boyko passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy on November 10, 1930, daughter of the late Wasyl (Charles) and Katherine (Solowij) Boyko. Mary worked in various insurance offices in the area and in Florida. She worked as a machine operator at the Watervliet Arsenal. She retired from the US Post Office on Karner Road, Albany. Survivors include her nephews, Paul (Judith) Kozlowski, Michael Gary (Cheryl) Boyko and her sister-in-law Margaret Boyko. Mary loved gambling, traveling, sports, family get togethers, seeing and being with her friends. She is predeceased by her siblings, Louise Kozlowski and Michael Boyko and her nephews Peter V., Philip J. and Steven C. Kozlowski. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, January 25 from 4-7:00pm at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. Funeral will be on Thursday at 11:00am from St. Basil Russian Orthodox Church. Burial will be at St. Basil Cemetery in the spring. Marys family would like to thank Connie Madigan for being such a wonderful and dear friend to Mary by spending time with her and doing things for her.
