Mechanicville Saratoga County Martha Jane Steadman of North Main Street passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016 at her residence. She was 63. Born in Troy on May 28, 1953, daughter of the late Harold O. and Patricia (Lavertue) Steadman. Martha worked at the Macomber Group in Albany. She enjoyed needle point, cross stitching and recently began piano lessons. She also enjoyed collectables, but loved being home reading a book or watching her shows. Survivors include her son, Owen Laffety of Cohoes, her grandson, Eli Laffety, her siblings, Sally Higgins of MA, Chris Steadman and Amy Steadman both of Stillwater and Heidi (Earl) Waldron of Colonie. Also survived by her nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 1-3:00pm on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater.
