Mark J. Rose, 66, passed suddenly on January 31, 2023. A creative and caring soul, Mark loved to bicycle, camp at the "farm" and make music. Whether it was performing his rendition of Alices Restaurant on Thanksgiving or belting out a Motorhead tune, Mark could be heard strumming and singing throughout his life alongside his brother Timothy. Mark grew up in the Village of Schaghticoke and attended Hoosic Valley Central Schools. Retired after many years at the City of Troy Department of Public Works, he spent time helping in the care of his mother, Nancy. Mark enjoyed building miniatures, making recordings and dreamed of living in castles. Mark had a tremendous heart for Christ, was generous to those less fortunate and was an active member of the Trinity Church of Lansingburgh. He is survived by his sons, Jeremiah Rose and Theodore (Teddy) Rose (Michelle Lee), his mother Nancy (Ann) Rose, and brother, Timothy Rose. Mark was expecting the birth of his first grandchild. Additionally, he leaves behind dear friend Darlene (Tessa) Rafferty, and nephews Kyle Hemmings (Debra) and Ian Rose (Jamie). Mark is predeceased by his father, Theodore (Ted) Rose, sister Linda Hemmings, nephew Jason Hemmings, and former wife Theresa (Terry) Begey Rose. Services for Mark will be announced at a later date.
