Obituary

Mechanicville, Saratoga County Marie Elaine Marshall of Park Avenue and longtime resident of Stillwater passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs after a long illness. She was 78. Born in Troy on March 10, 1945, daughter of the late Joseph Zecca and Doris (Kelly) Zecca Dingley. She is the wife of the late John E. Marshall who passed away on December 14, 2012. Marie worked at Stillwater Central School for many years as a bus driver. After retirement she went back and worked in the copy room at the school. In earlier years she worked as a waitress and was an active member of the Stillwater American Legion Auxiliary, Post 490. She enjoyed crafting, knitting, gambling and playing cards. Survivors include her sons, Mark (Karen) Minick of Stillwater/Greenwich and Mike (Lisa) Minick of Mechanicville, her stepsons Steven (Eunice) Marshall and Randy Marshall, her grandchildren Matthew (Nikki) Simoncavage, Ashley (Ian) Godfrey, Mark (Jenna) Minick, Brooke (Brandon) Simoncavage, Leah (Zach) Jordan, ten great grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. She was very close to her Zecca family- aunts, uncles, cousins and their children. She is predeceased by her daughter, who she loved and missed dearly Michele Simoncavage, great grandson Leo Godfrey and stepsons William Marshall and Kenneth Marshall. Relatives and friends may call from 5-7:00pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. Burial will be at 11am on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
