Margaret E. OBrien Krachenfels (Margie) of Spofford NH - entered into eternal life on Monday, May 9, 2016 after a brief illness. Margie was a first generation Irish American and daughter of the late Daniel and Sarah Madigan OBrien. Born on February 27, 1924, Margie was raised and educated in the Bronx. Margie was the beloved wife of the late Paul J. Krachenfels, whom she married on June 6, 1953. They resided in Merrick, Long Island until 1978, when they retired to Spofford, NH and built their home. After Pauls death in 2013, Margie moved to the Albany area to be closer to her family.
Margie is survived by her sister-in-law Barbara OBrien, her nieces Maura OBrien, Monica (Charles) Paddock, Margaret (Michael) Walsh and Kathleen (David) Triller and nephew James (Jacquelyn) OBrien. Six greatnieces, five great-nephews, two great-great nephews and several cousins, also survive her.
In addition to her parents and husband, brothers James G. OBrien and Dr. Robert D. OBrien and sister Catherine M. OBrien predecease her.
Fr. Patrick Butler, pastor at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park NY, will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday May 13, 2016 at 10:00am. Relatives and friends may call at the Chapel prior to the Mass at 9:00am. Burial will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville on Monday May 16, 2016 at 2pm.
The family would like to thank all those who visited Margie during the last eight weeks and sent prayers of healing and comfort.
