Obituary

Mechanicville, Saratoga County Lucille Josephine Laurenzo passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 with her loving family at her side. She was 89. Born in Mechanicville on July 29, 1933, daughter of the late John and Jenny (DAloia) Rubino. She is the widow of Vincent F. Laurenzo. Lucille (Lulu) was an active and life-long communicant of the former St. Pauls Church and served as Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Lazarus Committee and several other support groups. She enjoyed camping at Deer Run and Schroon River Campgrounds and going on cruises. She loved her trips to Deerfield Beach Florida, especially relaxing on her balcony and going on scooter rides. An avid Scrabble player and shopper, she would frequent her favorite store Boscovs. She always looked forward to serving refreshments at the annual Santas Playland at Quick Response. Above all, she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cooking for everyone on Sundays she always had food for her beloved family. Survivors include her children, Paul Laurenzo of Deerfield Beach, FL, Virginia Coleman of Mechanicville, Vincent Laurenzo of Saratoga Springs, John A. Laurenzo of Mechanicville, Fred Laurenzo of NC and Carol (Al) Zeleski of Mechanicville, her siblings, Barbara Zecca-Corsale of Saratoga Springs, Donna Matroni of CA and Joanne (Bruce) Cuilla of NC, sisters in law Marguerite Rubino and Helen Laurenzo both of Mechanicville, her adoring grandchildren, Jamie (Amy) Guile, Sean Guile, Timothy (Sara) Guile, Vincent (Gabrielle) Laurenzo, Jr., Krista (Josh) Phelps, Anthony (Caitlin) Laurenzo, Cassandra Laurenzo, Alessandra Laurenzo, John Laurenzo, Zachary Laurenzo, Austin (Erin) Zeleski and Ethan Zeleski. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her long time Grand Street neighbors who were her extended family. In addition to her parents and husband Vincent, she is predeceased by her daughter, Debra Laurenzo, her sister Angela (Charles) McCauley, her brothers Daniel (Lorraine) Rubino and Joseph Rubino and a son in law James Coleman. Relatives and friends may call from 10am-12 noon on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at All Saints on the Hudson South Church (formerly St. Pauls). Funeral Mass will be conducted at 12 noon with entombment to follow in St. Pauls Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Eddy Visiting Nurses who took great care of Mom, with a special thanks to Cindy Woellmer. A special thanks to Dr. Carl Sgambati and her caregivers.
