Loyola M. Lou Green Murphy, 88, of North Merrick, passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2016. Born in Mechanicville NY to the late John A. and Francies Titus Green, she was predeceased by her sisters Shirley Green Downes and Joan Green Brennan, and survived by her brother John Green. Loyola was the beloved wife of 63 years of the late Charles A. Murphy. She was the devoted mother of Charles J. Murphy, the late Ann (the late John Peterson), Daniel Murphy (Dr. Marguerite), David Murphy (Karen) and Dr. Donald Murphy (Dr. Laura). She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She graduated from Mechanicville High School and the State University of New York at Cortland, with a degree in Education. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart R. C. Church and a volunteer in the Sacred Heart School library. She was a role model to all who knew her and beloved by her family for her wise counsel. A funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 am. Saturday, October 22 at Sacred Heart R. C. Church, 720 North Merrick Avenue, North Merrick, NY. Interment will be at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, Monday, October 24 at 12:00 pm. Visiting hours will be Friday, October 21 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. at N. F. Walker Funeral Home, 2039 Merrick Avenue, Merrick, NY.
