Margaret Louise (Pettingill) Volpp of Mechanicville passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital. She was 83. She was born in Johnstown on October 23, 1927. Louise is the widow of the late Bernhard F. Volpp, Sr. whom passed away in 1986. I walked a quiet path I loved my mom and grandparents loved my husband, devoted my life to my children never made waves. Tried to live according to Gods rules. Louise was a member of the Halfmoon Senior Citizens, as well as an avid bowler. She is survived by her son, Bernhard F. Butch and wife Linda Lin Volpp, Jr. of Schaghticoke, her daughter Gretchen Volpp of Mechanicville, stepson Fred and wife Ann Dolly Volpp of Johnstown, her grandchildren Kelly (Mike) Buanno of Gloversville, Christine Volpp (John Rawson) of St. Johnsville and Mary (George) Miller of Johnstown. Also survived by her sister Betty Bates Osborne of Fonda as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Bernhard, she is predeceased by her Mother Eleanor Kiedel, her grandparents Nicholas and Grace Kiedel, her son John Volpp and a brother in law Elton Osborne. Relatives and friends may call from 5-8 on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street Schaghticoke. Funeral services will be at 10am on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family plot in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
