Obituary

Leslie Ann Cornue Sanderson of Schaghticoke, NY, born in Tully, NY went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 26, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her beloved of 50 years, Howard Sanderson and her children Erin Anne Sanderson (Aaron Robinson) of Kingston, NY and Dylan Wayne Sanderson of Mechanicville, NY. Her precious grandsons, Maximilian Robert and Leonidas Carmen Sanderson were her whole world. She is also survived by many cousins and her sister-in-law, Tina Cornue Chapman. Her aunts and uncles were a very special part of her life. Surviving are Arris Henderson, Nancy Staiger, Priscilla Gant, Esther Horton (David), Leslie was predeceased by her mother, Marion Henderson Cornue, father, Robert Cornue, brother and best friend, Michael Robert Cornue, sister-in-law Marcia Sanderson, brother in-law Wayne Sanderson and in-laws Stuart and Marcia Sanderson.

Leslie asked that special mention be made of her dear childhood friends, Michele Bollinger, Jacqueline Brown, Joy Jones, and Trina Carmen. Her sisters in Christ, Paula Saint-Vil, Cindi Capuano, and Kelly Jones; and also Sharon Bassett. Finally, all of her church family at Hoosic Valley Community Church who have been so loving and supportive during her illness.

Leslie's joy was in her God, family, friends, and church as she was music director first at Emmanuel United Church in Mechanicville and then Hoosic Valley Community Church for 27 years.

Calling Hours will be held at Hoosic Valley Community Church on May 3rd from 4pm to 7 pm.

Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at Hoosic Valley Community Church on May 4th at 11 am with a gathering after to share remembrances of Leslie. For those who cannot attend the ceremony, it will be available to watch on the Hoosic Valley Community Church website.

Donations may be made in her name to Memorial Sloan Kettering or Hoosic Valley Community Church.
