Obituary

Leo W. Frisino Valley Falls, Rensselaer County Leo W. Frisino, lifelong resident of Valley Falls passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 at St. Marys Hospital in Troy. He was 89, the oldest native-born resident of Valley Falls. Born on Poplar Street in Valley Falls on May 7, 1925, son of the late Pasquale and Eleanor (Abatto) Frisino. He is the husband of the former Ann S. Norton, whom he married in 1953. A veteran of the US Marine Corp, he attained the rank of Corporal and was honorably discharged in 1946. Leo worked in heating and plumbing and operated his own business, and worked for General Electric in Waterford as a welder. He was an avid woodworker and a master craftsman. A former village trustee, he went on to serve as mayor in 1962. He was also a former member of the Valley Falls Fire Department and the American Legion. Survivors in addition to his wife Ann Frisino include their children, Leo (Sharman) Frisino, Jr. of Albany and Lucia (Ted) Tienvieri of Rochester, his siblings Dolly Clum of Valley Falls, George (Joyce) Frisino of Melrose and Frank (Ina) Frisino of Clifton Park, grandchildren Krista Tienvieri and Jamie (Phil) Gervasi and great grandchildren Julia, Olivia and John. He is predeceased by his brothers Harry and Albert Frisino. Relatives and friends may call from 5-7pm on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street Schaghticoke. Funeral mass will be conducted at 10am on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Transfiguration Parish, Schaghticoke with Rev. Dominic Ingemie officiating.
