Galway, Saratoga County Laura A. Mattice passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Baptist Health Care Center. She was 95. Born on January 22, 1927 in Schenectady, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Frascatore) Sammo. Laura was the widow of the late George Mattice and mother of the late Mr. Donald Mattice and Mr. Richard and Cathy Mattice. Laura was sister to the late Louis Sammo Laura worked at the Galway Central School System as a bus driver, was ardently involved with the Galway Community Players, and loyal to the Galway United Methodist Church. Laura is survived by: her sister Patricia Davis; her son Mr. James Sprole and wife Lynn Sprole and her daughter-in- law Mrs. Mary Mattice. Laura is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Ricky Mattice Jr. and wife, Faith, Mrs. Angela Hilbmann and husband Sean, Jaime Ross and husband Daniel, Mr. Chris Mattice, April Hartung and husband Ben, Michael Mattice , and wife Elizabeth, Craig Mattice and wife Talia, Brian Mattice, and wife Mandy, Taylor Robinson, numerous great grandchildren. Lauras memorial service will be held at 10am on Thursday July 28, 2022 at the Galway United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Galway Village Cemetery.
