On May 9, 2026, surrounded and guided by family, Lana Louise Czuwala left this world and began her expedition to the infinite and immaculate next.

A Schaghticoke native, Lana was born to the late Peter Czuwala and Barbara (Gaylord) Czuwala on April 28, 1952. Lana was a Taurus, the bull of the Zodiac, and just as stubborn as one. Refusing to outsource her power or give up her independence, she continued to work full-time until her passing. She will be remembered for this quiet yet profound persistence, the fortitude she instilled in her children and grandchildren.

Remember Lana, also, in the face of Betty Boop, whose merchandise decorated her home, and in the voice of Elvis drifting softly into the room from a far off speaker. Remember Lana in flowers, and in angels.

Lana is survived by her children, Gina Czuwala and Scott Czuwala, siblings Lesa Valade and husband Joseph Valade, Kevin Goyer and wife Julia Goyer, Peter Czuwala, and Barbara Herrey, as well as her grandchildren, Kiersten, David, Connor, Abigail, Brendan, and Mylah.

In addition to her parents, Lana is predeceased by her siblings Christopher Czuwala and Wayne Goyer.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Chase Smith Funeral Home in Schaghticoke from 10 AM-12 PM. Funeral Mass will immediately follow at Transfiguration Parish in Schaghticoke, after which Funeral Interment will take place at St. John's Cemetery in Schaghticoke.
