Stillwater, Saratoga County Kenneth L. Baker of Barbolt Court passed away at Saratoga Hospital on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 with his family at his side. He was 85. Born in Stillwater on June 3, 1931, he was the son of the late Bernard and Isabel (Chase) Baker. He was married for 62 years to the love of his life, the former Marie J. Barbolt. Ken served in the Navy during the Korean War. He retired after 32 years from General Electric Company in Waterford as a Plant Supervisor. Mr. Baker served as a Village Trustee and Town Councilman and was a member of the Stillwater Fire Department and the American Legion Post #490, Stillwater. He was a Eucharistic Minister and usher at the former St. Peter the Apostle Church in Stillwater. Ken enjoyed playing horseshoes, as well as camping and vacationing with his wife Marie. They would spend summers together at the ocean and winters in the Gulf Coast of Florida. Survivors in addition to his wife, Marie J. Baker include his children, Brian K. Baker of Bordentown, NJ, Bruce D. (Carolyn) Baker and Kevin P. (Dawn) Baker all of Stillwater, his beloved grandchildren Christopher J. Baker, Tiffany A. Baker, Elizabeth A. Baker and Kathryn M. Baker and great grandchildren Cameron, Alexander and Sidney. Also survived by his siblings, Milton (Ruth) Baker, Howard (June) Baker and sister-in-law Pat Baker and several nieces and nephews. Ken is predeceased by his son, Kenny J. Baker, his brother Floyd Baker and stepfather John Wanko. Relatives and friends may call from 5-7:00pm on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 12 Noon on Monday at All Saints on the Hudson, North Church. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Peters Cemetery with military honors.
