Obituary

Melrose Rensselaer County Julia Catherine (Shaw) Lesson passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Diamond Hill Nursing Center in Troy. She was 92. Born in Troy on December 31, 1922, one of 14 siblings to the late LeRoy and Clara (Haskins) Shaw. Most recently she worked for the BASF Company in Rensselaer, retiring at age 70. Survivors include the love of her life for over 50 years, Thomas Brady, her sons Albert S. (Ellen) Casey of Latham and Gerald L. (Late Barbara) Casey of Rensselaer, her loving daughter Sally J. (Late Terry) Whitney of Melrose, nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by a daughter, Margaret J. Lesson and siblings; Wilbur L. Shaw, Theodore E. Shaw, Mildred G. Shaw, Eva I. Hagadorn, Harold C. Shaw, LeRoy A. Shaw, Helen C. Galuski, Robert M. Shaw, Edward F. Shaw, Donald T. Shaw, Dorothy M. Shaw, Stanley K. Shaw and William K. Shaw. Relatives and friends may call from 10-12 noon on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. Funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 12 noon. Burial will be at a later date in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery, Schaghticoke.
