Judith Lee Wheeler of Wilbur Road passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026 at her home. She was 77 years old.

Born in Kingston, NY on February 28, 1949, daughter of the late Donald B. and Janet (Hornbeck) Short.

Judy worked as a certified nurses assistant in various facilities in the area. In earlier times she enjoyed walking through the Saratoga Battlefield and was on a first name basis with the rangers at the time. She enjoyed spending time with her son Lawrence and her dog, Benny.

Survivors in addition to her son Lawrence Lohman of Kingston, the retired director of the Kingston High School Choir where students affectionately called her "Mama Loh", include her brothers William Short of Kingston and Donald (Bonnie) Short of Naples, FL. as well as her cousin Barbara Hornbeck.

Visiting hours will be from 5-7:00pm on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Ave., Stillwater. Burial will be in the Mt. Marion Cemetery, Saugerties, NY at 11am on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
